Red Line : Medicines with the Red Line on their strips should be consumed only with the doctor’s prescription. Red Stripe Medicines – These medicines are sold only with medical prescription. Antibiotics, Anti allergenic, Anti inflammatory, and other medicines.
Rx : Rx means u need to take the following medicines as suggested by ur physician.
NRx : nRx stands for New Prescription. Drugs in the Schedule H and H1 category require a prescription; hence the word Rx appears on the medicine strip/bottle. If the drug is a narcotic controlled under the NDPS Act, it has to be indicated by the word nRx.
Xrx : XRx means that medicine can be purchased only on a valid prescription. In India only registered pharmacists could dispense the prescription drugs. Doctor can also dispense medicine but only on his own prescription.
