Yesterday was an off day, but kind of a freaking awesome day at the same time. As I was riding the bus to work, I felt that familiar sway. My body touching the alternate dimension reminding me that I just might fall…into a #vestibularmigraine. I danced along the ledge all day long. The first time I bent down to pick something up, my body did a swoosh as if saying “Oh Emily, think twice before you do that again.”. I responded, “Ok, I’m listening, but not caving.”

I got myself a tall glass of water, put on my blue light blocking glasses, and started my work day. I took some deep breathes and put on some soothing music knowing my mind could use the distraction.

I applied the Cheer essential oil blend (clove, cinnamon, ginger + wild orange) to my forehead and wrists every single hour. I applied pure peppermint oil behind my head and stomach as well. On lunch I noticed I was yawning alottt…enough to make me think “Mr. Migraine is really trying to breakthrough”.

I walked to the bus after work feeling the fresh air on my skin and thankful I had just danced along the ledge. I know all too well what it feels like to fall in. My soul aches a bit knowing what it could have felt like and what it felt like for so many Vestibular Warriors yesterday.

Finished the night with a noodle stir fry dish, 3 drops of turmeric essential oil in a veggie capsule before bed for an anti-inflammatory punch, healthified apple crisp for the soul, and hugs for my boys.

I say it was a great day, because I built up my confidence- once again. I like to say it was a little fine tuning kind-of-day.
