Using Essential Oils for Autoimmune Conditions
When it comes to aromatherapy, I have found that implementing a regimen of anti-inflammatory oils is very helpful in addressing the root cause of autoimmunity because, as we have learned, inflammation is a key trigger. My suggestion would be to incorporate (diluted) topical recipes that include these anti-inflammatory chemical constituents:
· 1,8-Cineole—found in eucalyptus (globulus and radiata), niaouli, cajeput, cardamom, rosemary, and sage
· Anethole—found in anise, cedarwood, and fennel
· Borneol—found in lavender, rosemary, lavindin, spike lavender, and sage
· Eugenol—found in clove, black pepper, and basil
When using these anti-inflammatory oils, you’ll more than likely discover that certain blends work better than others. Be sure to let your health care provider know what you’re doing and stay current on your blood work and other exams to track the results!
