Natural Soap Color with Infused Oils – Hanger Swirl – Homemade Soap

Thank you so much for watching, liking, and subscribing! 🙂

Temperatures are in Fahrenheit.

This video shows how I color both an entire soap and a small amount of soap with herb/spice infused oils. The amount of infused oil I use to achieve a particular color varies with each type of oil infusion. Both the recipe and essential oil blend can affect the color, as well.

In case you’re interested, I have an affiliate store where I’ve listed all of the soap making supplies and materials that I purchase on Amazon:
If you use those links to buy anything, it won’t cost you anything extra, but I will receive a very small percentage of the sale. Every little bit helps, though, so thank you very much if you do! 🙂

Remember to always wear safety glasses and gloves when making soap. If you’ve never made cold process soap before, check out these helpful videos:

How I replace part of my recipe with an infused oil:
– When coloring an entire soap, I calculate the amount of infused olive oil I need to achieve the desired color.
– I subtract that amount from the olive oil in my recipe.
– I then add the infused oil back to the recipe at emulsion or light trace.

To achieve a lime green color, I replaced 35% of the total oils with Nettle leaf infused olive oil
This recipe called for 700 g of total oils
Nettle leaf infused oil needed = .35 x 700g = 245 g
Subtract the 245g from the olive oil required in the recipe
Add the 245g Nettle leaf infused olive oil back to the recipe (can be added to the oils before adding the lye solution or at emulsion or light trace)
