Let’s talk about using essentinal oils with cats! People are nervous to use oils with cats, there’s good reason for that. Many oils on the market aren’t pure, they can be very harmful to cats.
Commercial oils found on Amazon or even MLM oils can be a problem.
This is Logan, he is a very good boy. He was a rescue.
When he was a kitten I wanted to support a healthy immune system, I gave him NingXia red. Always offer plain water.
I also used oils on him very sparingly. More is not better. A cat could use a lot less, dilute the oils or use a diffuser. NOT an oil burner. Put oils in there for the respiratory system like Raven or RC.
If you diffuse with cats make sure they can get away from the diffuser.
Blends for relaxing like Stressed Away or Peace & Calming. I only use Young Living oils since 2001 because my veterinarians recommended them.
There are special blends of oils especially blended for pets.
T-Away relaxes animals for traveling or when a stressed situation.
ParGize may support healthy digestion.
Another way is to open the bottles and set them out. The cats would come and hang out near the oils they preferred.
Never force an oil on an animal.
The oils typically used for cooking may not be the best choice for cats: oregano, mountain savory, cinnamon, clove, melaleuca, etc.
Best to use oils especially blended for pets.
I also like to use frankincense, lavender, ylang ylang, Joy, Peace & Calming, and other floral / resin types of oils.
