Ever wondered how to cook with essential oils?

Week 3: Using Oils In foods and Drinks
Essential oils can be ingested in small quantities as long as the oils come from plants that are on the GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe). Always use oils in small quantities such as 1-3 drops and dilute in foods or drinks before consuming them. This will help you to identify how the oil works for you and if you should have any allergic reaction. Do not give children under 13 oils to ingest.

Wild Orange Oil –
*Supports cellular health
*Supports healthy mood
*Supports healthy muscle and tissue recovery
*Supports digestive health.
It is excellent for helping keep the natural digestive flora in check. Add this oil to foods and drinks in small quantities (1 drop at a time!)

Basil –
*Supports immune health
*Supports healthy respiratory response
*Supports natural kidney functions
TIP: Add a drop or two to pesto or other Italian sauces. Also makes a great beverage.

Cinnamon –
*Supports immune function
*Supports healthy inflammatory response
*Supports digestive health
This oil can be hot so be careful if you use it on the skin and always dilute it! Try adding a drop to your tea or coffee.

Fennel –
*Supports immune response
*Supports healthy smooth tissue response.
*Supports healthy digestive response.
*Supports kidney and urinary health.
Anti-parasitic, antispasmodic (relaxes muscles and reduces cramps), anti-toxic, diuretic. Use this oil for stomach cramps, gas and bloating, gout, parasites, lactation, urinary stones and to improve digestion.

Peppermint –
*Supports the body’s natural healing capabilities
*Supports healthy digestion
*Supports healthy inflammatory response
Analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic. Use this oil to stimulate brain function and increase energy. Perfect for improving respiratory functions, support the immune system, respiratory system, digestive system. Also helpful during times of menopause and PMS. This oil also makes the perfect and powerful breath freshener and kills bacteria in the mouth. If you are traveling and suffer from jet lag, peppermint oil can help to energize you! If you are congested or have a weakened sense of smell, peppermint can stimulate sense of smell.

Grapefruit –
*Supports healthy metabolism
*Supports healthy digestion
*Supports mood
Excellent aid to weight loss programs, it helps to quiet food craving and reduce bloating and water retention! As with all citrus oils, its great for lifting the mood helping you deal with stress! Use this oil for types of addictions as it reduces cravings!

Lime – Use this oil for improving the mood helping you to cope with stress or meloncholy. Supports the vascular system with affects blood pressure regulation. Great for adding to foods as a natural immune stimulant and support for the immune system.

Lemon – Made from the RIND of the lemon, this oil is perfect for coughs because it soothes the throat and helps to break up mucus. Also used for immune system support, digestive system support, as well as the body’s natural detoxification system organs (kidney, liver, colon, skin, lungs). As with all citrus oils, the scent improves mood.

Oregano Oil – Extremely powerful oil –Be Careful!
Use for: Stimulating the immune system, athletes foot, candida, parasites, and warts.
Ginger oil – This oils is often used as a whole herb, one of the most popular used in Chinese Medicine! Antiseptic, laxative, stimulant, tonic and warming. Use for Diarrhea, gas, indigestion, low libido, morning sickness, nausea, vertigo and vomiting.

Detox Water
1 Gallon Distilled water
5 drops lemon essential oil
5 drops grapefruit oil
2 Drops ginger essential oil
Combine and shake well before serving. Store in a glass container.

Lemon Hummus
1 cup garbanzo beans, rinsed
1/4 cup tahini
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tsp sea salt
4 tbsp olive oil
2 drops lemon oil

Peppermint Chocolates (Sugar Free)
1 cup coconut oil
4 tbsp raw cacao powder
1/4 cup monk fruit powder
1 tsp sea salt
2 drops peppermint oil.
Combine everything except oil in a pan, melt and blend well. Add peppermint. Pour into cup cake papers in muffin pan, 1tbsp per cup. Freeze.
