Scents and Sensibility! Today on Maker’s Moments, we will be teaching you the ins and outs of using essential oils for candle making.
Essential oils are natural, highly concentrated extracts from plants that are often fragrant. They can be found in the roots, leaves, stems, flowers, or fruits of plants and are extracted using a process called distillation.
Popularly used for various household and body applications, essential oils have rapidly gained popularity in the candle making community. When working with essential oils, it’s important to know how they behave when added to candle wax.
Because essential oils can be tricky to work with, we recommend using BLENDS of fragrance oils and essential oils. Be sure to look out for fragrances that are phthalate free and cruelty free, like those made by The Wooden Wick Co.
