How to Dilute Essential Oils for Babies:

The first thing I want to start off with saying is that for babies three months and younger the safest way to use essential oils is by diffusing them in a diffuser.

For babies and toddlers the general recommendation is about one drop of essential oil per 1 tablespoon of organic carrier oil. A great way to create roller bottles for babies with more than 1 essential oil added to it is by mixing the 2 drops of essential oils you want, then adding in 2 tbsp of organic carrier oil in a glass bowl. After you have blended these together, you can fill up the 10 ml roller bottle with the mixture you created. Anything leftover can be stored in a cool dark place until needed. This way you can make sure to dilute your roller bottle safely while still being able to use 2 different essential oils into the roller bottle for added benefits!

For example, if you wanted to make a teething recipe for a baby, then put one drop of lavender and one drop of Roman chamomile in a glass bowl. Mix in 2 tablespoons of organic carrier oil into the glass bowl with the 2 drops of essential oils. Once this is blended, add it to your roller bottles. That is the safest way to do it. I know many moms who want to use more than just one essential oil for their babies roller bottles.

How to Dilute Essential Oils for Children:

Diluting essential oils for children is different than for a baby. The general recommendation on children is one drop of essential oil per 1 teaspoon of organic carrier oil. As babies and children get older, you can start diluting the essential oils a little bit less.

How to Dilute Essential Oils for Adults:

A general recommendation for adults is 3 to 6 drops of essential oil per 1 teaspoon of organic carrier oil. Diluting is so important, and I always recommend it to people especially people who have sensitive skin. If you do have sensitive skin, then I would start off diluting your roller bottles more to be on the safe side. Always remember that less is more when it comes to essential oils. You can always add more to help you achieve the desired result if needed.
