Did You Know?
One of the main issues people have with this company comparison is MLM business model vs Retail business model and the internal use of essential oils being a go or no go. Make sure to check out the top factors below to see how these both play out.
Top 6 Factors To Consider with doTERRA VS Edens Garden
1.) Service: Free Education AND Personalized Support
– Both websites offer some basic education when it comes to essential oils and how to use each of their products. doTERRA offers personalized support through Wellness Advocates and it’s important to go with someone that you know, like, and trust to make sure you have the most positive experience.
2.) Quality: 3rd Party Tested for Purity AND Safety
– doTERRA offers 3rd party testing on all their essential oils and the CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade quality protocol includes the following tests
– Organoleptic testing
– Microbial testing
– Gas chromatography
– Mass spectrometry
– Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)
– Chirality testing
– Isotopic analysis
– Heavy metal testing
Edens Garden does provide GCMS testing but is limited on the other tests that they have publically available and based on what’s listed on their website.
3.) Quality: Essential Oils Approved for Internal Use
Most of doTERRA’s oils are approved for internal use according to the GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) standard. If they are approved for internal use they will have the Supplement Facts on the label.
Eden’s Garden essential oils are not approved for internal use unless directed by a licensed Aromatherapist or physician.
4.) Quality: Verifiable Batch Number on Bottle
doTERRA offers a verifiable batch number on the bottom of each bottle that you can go to the Source To You Website to see how that batch did from a chemical constituent standpoint.
Edens Garden offers a report for the oil type on their website, but doesn’t offer a batch number that can be verified on the bottom of the bottle and typed into their website to make sure they line up. This can cause some confusion on if it’s the batch or the oil that is truly being tested.
5.) Price: Retail AND Wholesale Options Available
doTERRA offer retail and wholesale options for customers and what you choose depends on how much money you want to save if you want to develop a wellness lifestyle or just buy something once. You want to go with someone that you know, like, and trust for your purchase instead of just going to doterra.com.
Eden’s Garden offers retail online through their website and on Amazon.com. This is good if you want to just get an oil and don’t want to save any money.
6.) Price: Loyalty Rewards Program Available
doTERRA offers a Loyalty Rewards Program where you can save 25-55% off retail, get your shipping reimbursed, and earn a free product of the month for any 125 point value order.
Eden’s Garden offers a similar program called “Aroma Notes” but only has a fraction of the savings potential based on larger purchase amount milestones (roughly less than 10% in savings opportunity with purchases)
In the end, doTERRA got a 6 in their score and Eden’s Garden got a 1.5 check marks based on the Top 6 Factors to Consider. I believe service is the most important factor to consider since we are relational beings and shouldn’t just be focused on just the transaction, but this will also vary from person to person.
