Last night I taught an online introduction to essential oils class!
One of the questions I was asked was, how do you use the oils
or what is your daily routine?
One thing that has helped me to use essential oils on a daily basis is by making my own personal care and home care products using essential oils and other natural ingredients.
I like to make my own liquid soft soap using pure water, castile soap and tea tree oil and peppermint oil.
I even make my own shampoo with castile soap, coconut oil and cedarwood and thyme essential oils. I will sometimes add tea tree oil as well.
To clean the kitchen and bathroom I made my own household cleaner. I add 8-10 drops of lemon oil to 8 ounces of water in a glass spray bottle.
I use peppermint oil to clear congestion and as a breath freshener. Peppermint oil can also be used as a bathroom spray. Just add 4 drops of peppermint oil to 2 ounces of water in a small glass spray bottle.
Peppermint oil can also be used to drive bugs away. Insects and spiders do not like the smell of peppermint oil. You can also use peppermint oil on your plants in the garden to protect them from pests.
I like to use lemongrass and water to make my room air freshener. It is simple to make, just add four drops of lemongrass to four ounces of water.
