Video Transcribed: So you heard essential oils are great… but you have no idea how to use them…

The short answer is this: essential oils can be inhaled, rubbed on your skin, and ingested internally.

This video will break down exactly what to do to begin enjoying the benefits of essential oils.

Check the description for a written version of this video and links to the resources mentioned.

ONE: Inhale

Breathing in essential oils is a very low-risk way to benefit from aromatherapy.

You can hold the bottle to your nose and inhale for 5 minutes or try using a diffuser to infuse the whole room with the scent for multiple hours.

You can even use oils with style by wearing an aromatherapy necklace with a few drops added to it daily.

TWO: Rub on Your Skin

The best place to apply essential oils is on the actual problem area, the bottom of your feet, or your wrists.

Essential oils used on your skin should almost always be diluted with a carrier oil such as fractioned coconut oil.

The easiest way to get the ratio correct on coconut oil to essential oil is to pre-make roller bottles with each oil and have them on hand.

Another thing to keep in mind is that some essential oils (mostly the citrus ones) are phototoxic.

This means you should not apply to an area that will see the sun or you need to stay out of direct sunlight for 12 to 18 hours.

Another way to use essential oil topically is to add a few drops to your bathwater. Lavender oil is wonderful for relaxation.

THREE: Internally

Essential oils CAN be used internally by adding them to a gel capsule, putting a drop under your tongue, or even in cooking.

Consider adding oregano oil to your homemade spaghetti or lavender to your iced tea. One drop goes a long way!

However, since oils are not FDA approved I would highly suggest only using high-quality brands such as Young Living, doTERRA, or Eden’s Garden.
