There are three different ways to use essential oils: aromatically, touch, and ingesting, This video goes over one way to reap the benefits of essential oils through diffusing, the easiest way to use essential oils aromatically.
By diffusing, you are breathing in the essential oils with every breath. Which allows the body to absorb more of the benefits the longer you are around the diffuser. This comes with the added benefit of an air freshener.
I typically diffuse my essential oils at night while I sleep so I am getting a full 8 hours of breathing in the benefits.
Essential oils pretty much cured my insomnia. And because I know how difficult it is to live with insomnia I provided my recipe of my sleep blend. This is the base recipe for diffusing while I sleep since I can add more base notes while still getting the benefit of getting knocked out quickly from my sleep blend.
Sleep blend (base):
3-4 drops Lavender (relaxation and sleep)
6-7 drops Balance (DoTerra Proprietary blend) (evens out emotions, calming)
4-5 drops Geranium (calming, helps with sleep)
3 drops Cinnamon Bark (anti-inflammatory)
5 drops Bergamot (helps with sleep)
From this base you can add other essential oils to help with your other issues.
Since I had a cold I added:
1 drop Melaleuca
1 drop Oregano. This blend has been scientifically proven to kill viruses
3-4 drops Frankincense (It has been scientifically proven to help with many ailments but especially known for helping cure diseases, cold ect.)
1-2 drops Cyprus
1-2 drops Eucalyptus (Both of these essential oils help the nasal and sinus passages to open up and to help with congestion)
