Castile Soap made with 100% olive oil (the most gentle soap!) | Cold Process Soap Making

This is my all time favourte soap to make and to use – especially in our dry winters when only the most gentle, conditioning bar of soap will do. Olive oil soap has been made in many parts of the world for centuries, and there’s a good reason why! It’s the most gentle soap you can use, and there’s nothing that matches the feel it gives your skin after bathing. Some people don’t like it becuase it doesn’t have the best lather, but I just love it. It’s so soothing.

Here is a list of ingredients for this recipe, in case you missed it in the video. Please make sure you watch my introductory soap making videos (links below) if you have never made soap before or you aren’t sure about safety precautions:

600g olive oil
109g water (this recipe has 42% lye concentration solution)
18g rosemary essential oil (3% of total oil amount)

Please also visit me at my Elly’s Everday facebook page to see regular updates on my soap and sourdough bread making projects. Feel free to contact me there with any questions you have too! I’m always happy to help people if they get stuck.
