Where I live Spring is in full swing and though it’s beautiful to see all the flowers blooming the pollen can cause havoc to our bodies! So many people have been asking me about essential oils to help for congestion, itchy eyes, running noses, and coughs that come on due to season changes and pollen in the air!
My oils I like to use for these symptoms are lemon, lavender, and peppermint.
Lemon cleanses and purifies. It supports healthy respiratory function.
Lavender promotes feelings of clear breathing and open airways. It also may help support a healthy immune function and response.
Peppermint promotes healthy respiratory function and clear breathing. Relieves feelings of tension.
You can use these oils three different ways when dealing with seasonal threats.
The first way is internally. You can add 2 drops of each oil to a veggie capsule and swallow. Or add a drop of each oil under the tongue. This cleanses the body’s system and promotes clear berthing.
Second, you can apply these oils topically to the bridge of the nose, on the chest, or bottom of feet. I like to make a roller bottle for topical use. Add 8 drops of each oil to a 10mL roller bottle and fill the rest with fractioned coconut oil.
Thirdly, you can diffuse these oils to promote healthy respiratory function. I especially love diffusing over night to promote a restful night and open airways. Add 2 drops of each oil to a diffuser or add 1 drop of each to your hand and inhale.
